Install CSVwise
CSVwise installs from the Shopify App Store in under a minute. This article walks through the install flow and what the app does on your store afterward.
Before you start
You'll need:
- A Shopify store on any plan (Basic, Shopify, Advanced, Plus).
- Permission to install apps on that store, usually the store owner or a staff member with the Apps permission.
You don't need a CSV ready to go. CSVwise is free to install and starts you on the Free plan with three free cleanups already in your account.
Install steps

Visit the Shopify App Store listing and click Add app.

Sign into the Shopify store you want CSVwise installed on. Shopify will take you to the permission review screen.

Review the permission CSVwise asks for:
- View and edit products. Used only for the store-match check on Pro and Studio. CSVwise never edits products on its own. Every change to your catalog happens when you run Shopify's built-in CSV importer on the cleaned file CSVwise gives you.

Click Install app. Shopify connects your store to CSVwise.

Pick a plan. Shopify shows all three: Free ($0), Pro ($19/mo), and Studio ($49/mo). Choose Free to start. There's nothing to pay and no card required, and you can change plan in either direction later from inside the app.

You'll land in CSVwise's home screen inside your Shopify admin, with three free cleanups already credited.
What CSVwise does on your store after install
- Connects to your store. This is the standard handshake every Shopify app does. It's what lets the app live in your admin and respond when you open it.
- Remembers your plan and your remaining cleanups. We keep a small record tied to your store's address (
yourshop.myshopify.com). - Doesn't read your products, customers, or orders, except for the store-match check (Pro and Studio), which runs automatically during a cleanup and only asks Shopify which of your file's handles already exist in your store.

Changing plan or uninstalling
If you only want to stop paying, you don't need to uninstall. Free is a real $0 Shopify plan, so you can switch down to it from inside CSVwise. See Downgrades.
To remove the app entirely, uninstall at any time from your Shopify admin under Settings → Apps and sales channels. The moment you uninstall, CSVwise immediately loses access to your store.
We then wait 48 hours before permanently deleting any record of your shop. That window is intentional. If you uninstalled by mistake and reinstall within two days, your remaining cleanups come back. A Pro or Studio subscription is canceled at uninstall on Shopify's side, so you'll pick your plan again when you reinstall (and you aren't double-billed).
After 48 hours, Shopify confirms the uninstall is final and we permanently delete every record tied to your shop.
